These Terms govern use of bifold-doors.com and apply to all quotations, supply and installation services unless superseded by a signed contract.

No Contract Formed via Website

Website content does not constitute a binding offer.

A contract is only formed when:

  • We issue a written quotation
  • You accept in writing
  • We confirm acceptance

Quotations

All quotations:

  • Are subject to survey
  • Are valid for 30 days unless stated otherwise
  • May be amended following site inspection
  • Are based on information provided by you

We reserve the right to revise pricing where:

  • Measurements differ
  • Structural issues are discovered
  • Access restrictions apply
  • Regulatory requirements change

Retention of Title

All goods supplied remain our property until:

  • Full payment (including installation and any variations) has been received in cleared funds.

Until title passes:

  • You must not sell, transfer or encumber the goods.
  • We reserve the right to enter the property (on reasonable notice) to recover unpaid goods.
  • Risk passes upon delivery, but ownership does not.

This clause survives termination of contract.

Payment Terms & Stage Triggers

Unless otherwise agreed in writing:

  • Deposit payable upon order acceptance
  • Interim payment due upon manufacture completion or prior to delivery
  • Final balance due immediately upon installation completion

Installation completion means:

  • Products are fitted and operational
  • Minor snagging does not delay final payment

Failure to pay may result in:

  • Suspension of works
  • Delay of warranty activation
  • Statutory interest under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts Act 1998 (for trade customers)

Variation & Material Price Increases

Due to fluctuations in material costs (including aluminium, glass, hardware, transport, energy):

We reserve the right to increase the contract price where:

  • Material costs increase by more than 5% after quotation date
  • Government duties or regulatory costs change
  • Supply chain disruptions materially affect cost

We will provide written evidence of such increases.

If the increase exceeds 10%, you may cancel prior to manufacture commencement.

Detailed Installation Scope Exclusions

Unless expressly included in writing, our installation service does NOT include:

  • Structural alterations
  • Lintel replacement unless specified
  • Electrical disconnection/reconnection
  • Plumbing alterations
  • Plastering beyond minor making good
  • Decorating
  • Floor repairs
  • Scaffold provision unless stated
  • Asbestos removal
  • Building Control fees

Any additional works required will be chargeable.

Access & Parking Responsibility

You must ensure:

  • Clear and safe access to the property
  • Adequate working space
  • Suitable parking for installation vehicles
  • Permission for skips or road access if required

We are not responsible for:

  • Parking fines
  • Permit costs
  • Delays caused by restricted access
  • Inability to complete works due to site obstruction

Additional visits due to access failure may be chargeable.

Waste Removal Limitation

Unless agreed otherwise in writing:

  • We will remove old windows and doors only.
  • We are not responsible for removal of:
    • General household waste
    • Furniture
    • Curtains/blinds
    • Rubble not generated by our works

Skips, if required, may incur additional cost.

Glass Breakage Risk Allocation

Risk in glass units transfers:

  • Upon delivery to site.

We are not liable for glass breakage caused by:

  • Third parties
  • Accidental impact after installation
  • Structural movement
  • Thermal stress due to site conditions

Spontaneous sealed unit failure within warranty period will be covered only under manufacturer warranty terms.

Plaster, Render & Decorative Damage

Window and door replacement may cause:

  • Cracking to plaster
  • Render damage
  • Minor cosmetic disturbance
  • Internal decoration disruption

Unless expressly included, our responsibility is limited to:

  • Basic making good immediately around the frame.

We are not liable for:

  • Re-decoration
  • Colour matching
  • Pre-existing weak plaster or render
  • Hairline cracking due to structural movement

Measurement Disclaimer

If you provide your own measurements:

  • You accept full responsibility for accuracy.
  • Bespoke products are non-refundable unless faulty.

Warranties

Warranties:

  • Are provided separately in writing.
  • Are void if full payment is not received.
  • Do not cover misuse, accidental damage, poor maintenance or structural movement.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for:

  • Indirect or consequential loss
  • Loss of profit or business
  • Delays beyond our control
  • Damage caused by third-party contractors
  • Pre-existing structural defects

Our total liability shall not exceed the contract value paid.

Nothing excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence or fraud.

Force Majeure

We are not liable for delays caused by:

  • Extreme weather
  • Supply chain shortages
  • Government restrictions
  • Industrial action
  • Events beyond reasonable control

Time for completion shall be extended accordingly.

Intellectual Property

All Website content remains our property and may not be reproduced without written consent.

Trade Customers

Trade customers:

  • Acknowledge products are supplied in the course of business
  • Accept responsibility for suitability
  • Do not benefit from consumer cancellation rights

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
